PB No. 1

Mteri gives up a 10-Pounder for me!

A beaut of 4,6kg (10.12lb) taken on 2 August 2006. The lure was a chartreuse and white spinnerbait dressed with a black trailer and a No. 6 gold Hildebrandt willowleaf blade cast to a swirl near a stump surrounded by vegetation.

Thank you, LORD!

Another view of my Mteri Bass.

I had a great trip with Eddie and Greg Welman from Welman Bass Fishing Guide Service.

Thanks for the pics, Greg!

PB No. 2

I display a typical Mteri Bass of 3,4kg (7.48lb) taken on 6 June 2002. The lure: a 10” black Berkley PowerWorm. The technique: Flipping standing timber.

PB No. 3

This time Midmar (KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa) produces for me! A solid Bass of 3,2kg (7.04lb) taken on 10 October 2010 early evening on a Texas-rigged Junebug colour Gene Larew HooDaddy while walking the bank.

PB No. 4

"The Twins"

I caught these two (5.3 lb - 2.41kg and 5.1lb - 2.32kg) on consecutive casts in the same area at Albert Falls Dam, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, on a DLN crankbait in Rootbeer colour just after midday (overcast) on 4 October 2008.

Thanks for the pics, Mark!

Could they be the same fish? Probably not - look at the notches on the anal fin clearly visible ...
