This was my first attempt at sliding a live bait thanks
to good advice from the
Botha clan (Alan, Jeff, PJ
and Piet) who were Margate Pier regulars in the
late 1980's!
Alan Botha now lives on the KZN South Coast and
regularly takes monsters from the shore
A 19kg (42lb) Kabeljou
(Natal Salmon)
caught
by the webmaster in the surf off Southbroom Beach (Big
Tree),
KwaZulu-Natal
using 17lb test mainline
and shad belly as bait
